And not to be left out, our morning PK classes enjoyed their last day of the year. Snacks, crafts and stickers are all part of the fun.
Students enjoyed shopping in the Reading Incentive Store this morning! Full service, with our volunteers helping them select and wrap items, and write names for their packages. So fun!
Yesterday our VFMS FCCLA program was honored to receive a $500.00 donation from McElroy's 2024 Core Values Integrity Award program. This year Phil Harper, father of students Elliot (8) and Ava (6), was selected as their honoree due to the positive attitude he has at work. Phil selected our FCCLA program to receive the donation. Congratulations to Phil and thank you for supporting FCCLA!
Awesome job all those involved with making the Kids Christmas Store come together this year! The store is open and running! Thank you to all the students and Santa's helpers who have and are giving of their time today to help make this a reality for our elementary students! Way to go!!

High School students have been helping gather, sort and organize items for the Reading Incentive Store opening tomorrow in the library. THANK YOU to everyone that donated items! The selection of items available is great and the kids will have fun shopping.
The VFHS Fall Award Ceremony was held yesterday to honor our clubs and take time to recognize students who have gone above and beyond this semester. Each club selected members they thought showed the most leadership, were most involved, and most involved as first year members. Recognition was also given to our HS Student of the Month for November, Cali DeLong, and November Rotary Student of the Month, Grayson Coleman. Congratulations to everyone that received an award! Others were encouraged to become more involved in their individual club or at school in general. The elementary building is looking for a few volunteers to listen to students read individually or in small groups. High School Basketball Update:
On Tuesday, December 17th, the Dragons will be taking on Troy at home. Troy is unable to play a JV Girls game, so we have adjusted the game time in order to play all games in the West Gym. The schedule is as follows:
4:30pm - 1/2 C-Team Boys
Approx. 5:00pm - JV Boys
Varsity Girls - follow JV Boys
Varisty Boys - follow Varsity Girls
Valley Falls Middle School lost a nail biter today to St Benedict. They finished 4th in the tournament. Great season ladies.

What do you get when you plan a holiday dinner and program for 165 community members and students? You get a lot of staff and students working together to make sure everyone has an enjoyable time. Thank you, Margo, for taking the lead role and directing the planning, prep and presentation of this event. Thank you to Nellis Trucking for donating the potatoes, and Shaun, Alex, & Josh of the Culinary Essentials Class for making ornaments. The Freshmen Leadership Class worked with Kindergarten students to decorate the ornaments and make necklaces that were given to all the guests. Our Journalism class took photos of guests with Santa (played by Shayden) and his elf (Myles) in front of a backdrop made by Heidi. The choir and second grade class sang multiple songs. Lots of others were involved in the background and we want to say THANKS to EVERYONE for your help!
Staff Christmas Party this week. We appreciate the important work our staff does throughout the year. Thank you to our Valley Falls Chamber and PTO for providing Chamber Bucks for some of our door prizes.
MS Pep Rally this afternoon to send our girl's basketball team off right as they face the Troy Trojans in the Oskaloosa Tourney at 4:30 today. Go Lady Dragons!

There will be a C-Team boys game at every home game through basketball season. The game will will be played in the East gym after the JV boys game. Given this information, if the opposing team does not have the roster numbers to play the game we will do our best to send out prior notification. Have a great day!

High School Basketball Update:
On Friday, December 13th, the Dragons will travel to Royal Valley High School. The game time for both JV Boys and JV Girls is 4:30pm. The JV Boys will play in the high school gym, while the JV Girls will play in the elementary school gym. There will be a C-Team boys game following the JV Boys game in the elementart school gym.

Jodie Cook, Addison Lassiter, Olivia Partridge, and Ellie Shipley all participated in music opportunities with many other schools last Saturday! Jodie and Addison with Choir at Topeka High. Olivia and Ellie with band at Seaman. Wonderful experience for our students. Thank you Mrs Stottlemire for making this happen!!
Congrats to the middle school girls basketball players for winning their first game of the NEK tournament last night!! Next game will be in Oskaloosa at 4:30 on Thursday!!
