Congratulations to VFHS student Emma Bolz who was nominated and selected for the 1-2a All State Band. Emma will participate at the Kansas Music Educators Association Conference in Wichita at the end of February. This is Emma's second year in a row she has been selected, and we are all very proud of her. Again Congrats Emma and good luck at state!

Great Kansas Day fun today. We started the day together in the gym singing, decorated sunflower cookies that middle school students baked, had several special activities in the classroom, and our K-3rd grade participated in activity stations our 7th graders prepared in their SS class. Happy 163rd birthday Kansas!

If you don't have a university shirt then wear anything that represents Kansas like sunflowers, honey bees, or Valley Falls black and gold. We are looking forward to celebrating Kansas on Monday!! VFHS leadership class took a field trip today to tour Harvesters and learn about nonprofit organizations. After learning all about the needs and how Harvesters operates, the class worked to help fill Senior Citizen food boxes. It was a very enlightening and rewarding day.
