Our first session of our Red Ribbon Walk-a-Thon was a great experience for all!! Two more sessions this afternoon.
VFHS held its National Honor Society Inductions on Monday, November 6. New members include. Skylar Neiberger, Renay Myers, Aubrey Hernandez, Cassie Frakes, and Josiah Hefty. Returning members include Peyton Lockhart, Lauren Brown, Korie Kirkwood, Tori Freeborn, Gretchen Hager, and Olivia Sprang.
MSGBB at Oskaloosa tomorrow will go B, 1/2 C, then A. Have the girls arrive at the school at 3 PM. Girls need to make sure they bring their black uniforms, basketball shirt/warmup, shoes, and a water bottle. Email Miss Thayer or Mrs. Ellerman with any questions.

The VFHS National Honor School Society will host their 2023-24 Induction Ceremony on Monday, November 6th at 6 pm in the USD 338 Library. Please join us to celebrate a great group of new members!
Dear Parents,
VFHS will host an informational student and parent meeting for anyone in grades 10th-12th who may be interested in taking courses through Highland School of Technology, Washburn Institute of Technology, and Highland Community College. The meeting will be on Wednesday, November 8th at 5:30pm in the commons (lunch room). If you are unable to make it, please contact Stacy Cervantez to receive information. This meeting will be for any student interested in attending technical school next year as well as those that would like to take any college courses starting next semester.

Tomorrow morning all Juniors will be taking the Work Keys test from ACT. We will start first thing in the morning after attendance and lunch count have been taken. As we transition into the 2023-2024 basketball season, there are some key changes coming to the game we all love.
Here's what you need to know:
🏀 No more 1-1 free throws
🏀 The bonus will always be 2 shots
🏀 Bonus begins at 5 team fouls
🏀 Team fouls will reset each quarter
🏀 The scoreboard will show a max of 5 fouls per quarter
This rule change comes from NFHS for safety reasons and is designed to enhance the flow of the game.
