Miss Heineken surprised the Chemistry class this morning and turned the lesson into a sweet treat of ice cream! Students analyzed the effect of ice alone and ice with salt added, and rolled their bags till the treat was ready to eat. Meanwhile, some of our younger students were learning and having fun in both gyms.
USD 338 Board Members Leading for Success
January is School Board Recognition Month, a great opportunity to say thank you to the USD 338 Valley Falls Board of Education who are committed to the success of every student in our community.
Our board of education includes (from L to R) Jesse Nickelson, Aaron Sprang, Donny Smith, Caleb Clark, Kimberly Kirkham, Jami Heinen, and Jesica Clark.
These seven community leaders volunteer hundreds of hours attending meetings, reading reports and discussing plans and programs to support educational achievement.
USD 338 encourages the entire community to thank a school board member, not only this month but throughout the entire year.

HS Basketball Update:
On Tuesday, 1/14/25, the Dragons will travel to Maur Hill. Games will start at 4pm with the JV Girls only playing 1/2 game.
On Friday, 1/17/25, the Dragons will host JCN. The JV Boys will start at 4:45pm in the East gym followed by the C-Team boys. The JV Girls will start at 5:00pm in the West gym, followed by the Varsity Girls and Boys. Winter Royalty crowning will be at halftime of the Varsity Boys game.
The make-up game with McLouth has been rescheduled for Wednesday, February 12th, with a 5:00pm start time. This is for HS only.

The HS and MS basketball games scheduled for today (1/10) against McLouth have been POSTPONED. A reschedule date is being worked on.
As of this moment, the JV Tournament will proceed as scheduled tomorrow. We will send out if there are any more updates.
At this time there is has not been any decision made related to the games with McLouth this evening. A decision will be made early this afternoon concerning both the MS and HS basketball games scheduled for this evening. We will update you ASAP after a decision is made!

VFHS students need to report directly to their 1st hour class at 9 am today, we will then skip the 2nd hour. Given this information, after 1st hour they will report to third hour class by 9:50 am (normal bell time) and continue on the normal bell schedule the remainder of the day. Have a great day!
