#DragonPRIDE safety measures #9: Alternate lunch spaces will be utilized so students will be social distanced during lunch time.

#DragonPRIDE safety measures #8: Bussing times will be staggered and students will be going directly to the classroom upon arrival to help avoid the congregation of groups of students.

#DragonPRIDE safety measures #7: USD #338 are making mechanical changes and implementing strategies to bring more “fresh air” into our buildings to dilute particles that contain viruses. Strategies reduce the risk that someone would breathe in virus and become infected.

Valley Falls High School is hosting a Virtual Open House on Monday, August 24, 2020 from 7:30 to 8 pm. Parents please stay tuned to your email for more information. We look forward to working with everyone this year!

#DragonPRIDE safety measures #6: Safety includes emotional support. Prepare your student for the changes they will see at school. Here is a short video to help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iu5HamseAE

#DragonPRIDE safety measure #5: Protecting others --If students have two or more of the following symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle aches, headache, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, runny nose/congestion, diarrhea, or nausea, they will be asked to isolate for 10 days. If they are not tested for COVID, at the end of 10 days, they can return if they have been fever free for 72 hours. Students can return anytime during the 10 day isolation period with a doctor's note or if they are tested and it is negative. During this isolation period, if students feel well enough to participate, they will be asked to engage in remote learning.

There is a MS Volleyball parent meeting via Zoom tomorrow, August 20th, at 6:30 PM. The link will be sent out to parents in an email tomorrow. If you have questions contact Coach Ellerman at margo.ellerman@vfalls338.com.
It's not too late to sign up for MS Volleyball.

Please find the district calendar here: http://bit.ly/2020_21VFCalendar. This will be a bit of an unusual year in that flexibility will be critical for our educational team --community, parents, guardians, staff, and students. We are sure of one thing-- things will have to adjust throughout the year. The calendar will be updated as things change so we will not be printing a formal calendar this year. Please follow this calendar and our news feed on the website for updated information.
One big change will be some early out days for collaborative teacher time. These days will be much needed for the staff so they can prepare for two delivery models, in person and remote. We will be trying to cover each other within the building and will have minimal subs supporting the instructional process. This early out allows us to communicate with each other and continue to ROCK Valley Falls Academics! On these days students will attend school until 12:30 PM and then a bus will bring students home. If PreK - 5 parents do not have daycare in the afternoon, don't worry, please let your teacher know. Students who need afternoon supervision may stay at school. Students at school will be divided out and will be with the district paras while the teachers are working. For students grade 6 - 12, we are working on criteria in which a student may HAVE to stay at school. Some of the criteria will include missing assignments and failing grades. At 3:35 PM, we will be doing an additional bus route to bring those students home who have spent the afternoon at school. The bus will bring those students home a bit early as the bus may not be as full.

USD #338 will offer CLC again this year. Contact Wendy Gibbens, wendy.gibbens@vfalls338.com for more information. Max of 18 full time slots. We will not accept any part time students unless we do not fill the full time slots.
