Give Back to Valley (Match Day) is this Saturday, September 20th from 9AM-2PM at the Kendall Bank Community Hall. USD#338 will have several sponsors and school employees in attendance; all representing a wide variety of school athletic teams, clubs and organizations. On behalf of USD#338, we look forward to visiting with you about our programs on Saturday and hope you will consider making a tax-deductible donation towards one of the school programs of your choice. Your Lady Dragons picked up a big home win tonight sweeping P. Ridge in three straight sets. The JV ladies dropped their match in three to P. Ridge. Great games ladies!

Pre-K and older students learned about our MIA & POW's this afternoon, received a flag, recited the Pledge of Allegiance, and pulled the string on some confetti "poppers". Thank you to our VFW Auxiliary for presenting in honor of POW/MIA Day.

Happy Constitution Day! Students have enjoyed getting to know more about our Constitution today. Thank you to our staff for their efforts in planning and teaching, and to our eighth graders who assisted students in the classroom.
Volleyball traveled to JCN last night to battle JCN and Riverside. The ladies opened with a strong showing winning in two over Riverside and then took on JCN dropping a hard fought match in three games to go 1-1 on the night.
Varsity and JV VB travel to JCN tonight to take on JCN and Riverside. Games start at 5 pm, we will play in the 2nd and 3rd games. Go Dragons!
Just a reminder that both Tech busses will run tomorrow on their normal schedule! There is no school at USD 338 due to staff in-service.
Lady Dragons ran well at their meet at Lyndon. Varsity Medalists were Brooklynn Schmelzle 6th, Shaun Nickelson 10th, Dakota Boyce 11th, and Alila Brown 1st in JV. The rest of the team helped to pull out a 3rd place finish.
The middle school students have an opportunity to earn a Dragon Ticket for demonstrating positive character traits! Today we celebrated our students by conducting a drawing. Winners today included Jeffrey, Rowdy, Kate, Zyriya, and Ezra!

Reality U was a great success! Thank you to all of our great volunteers that worked the tables: Amy Vessar, Dawna Ross, Mary Jo Hamon, Tiffany Best, JoLina Wildeman, Scott and Renata Nichols, Yolanda Turecek, Alison Olson, Steve Seratte, Jeannie Shy, Vanessa Gier, Kendall Bank, Shelbie Glissman-Morgison, Audra Moore, Marietta Heinen, Gracie Connor, Cash Stein, Susan Grey. We also had several great volunteers from Oskaloosa. Because of these volunteers, our 8th and 10th grade students were able to experience Reality U! Thanks again!

We have had a very strong start to the school year! The Grade School students will be seeing a new resource being utilized with ELA instruction - Arts and Letters. Please watch for information from teachers throughout the year. We will also be utilizing Accelerated Reader this year - thank you to the Rec. Commission's financial support. Continue to watch for information from your childs teacher. Students will be setting goals and working toward reaching those reading goals. We are looking forward to these new additions.

The year is off to a fast start and we are hitting our stride for the Fall 2025 semester.
