Dragon Families - We need your help!
We typically use federal applications for free/reduced lunches to determine qualifications for some of our district programs and state at-risk funding . Due to all lunches being free this year, we have only received half of what we typically receive for applications. The form in your enrollment packet "Household Income Survey" is an important piece for district funding. Approximately half of the families that normally complete this form have turned it in this year.
Please consider completing the Household Economic survey so our district funding is not impacted. We utilize at-risk monies to support our para payroll, afterschool programs, and Dragon Sparks time in the summer. Completing the application does not mean you have to accept the programs offered to your family but it does guarantee funding for district programs. Eligibility determination will be made according to state and federal established guidelines. Your information is completely confidential.
To apply, families can contact Brenda Lloyd at (785) 945- 3229 or click here to download the form: https://bit.ly/3gGKqYq. The process is confidential. Just mail or bring your application (in a sealed envelope) to USD #338 Valley Falls Schools, Attn.: Brenda Lloyd, 700 Oak Street, Valley Falls, KS 66088. It can also be turned into any district office.

Good Afternoon Dragon Family,
News hot of the printing press! Your Valley Falls Dragons will be taking on the Cornerstone Family Schools Saints as a replacement opponent to Centre Lost Springs for Homecoming on September 10th! We look forward to having everyone in town for the festivities and a big win! Your Dragons open the season on September 3rd at Wetmore and we are looking forward to a great season under Coach Hofstra and Coach Magee!

Good morning Dragon Family,
We were just notified this morning that Centre Lost Springs our Homecoming opponent for September 10th currently does not have the participation numbers to play at the 8-man level. Given this fact and the late notification USD 338 Administration and Staff is working to fill the open date with another opponent. We have reached out to KSHSAA and the Kansas 8 man Coaches Association to fill the open date and are working diligently in the process. Knowing this is Homecoming we will do everything we can to find another opponent. However, if this is not possible we will have to reschedule Homecoming activities to a later date. Please stay tuned for more information as the situation evolves. Have a great day!
In Dragon Spirit,
Mr. Morgan

We are happy to welcome Mrs. Richerson to our Dragon Team as she steps into our CLC Director position. Her experience and positive outlook will be a great addition to our already fantastic CLC staff. She looks forward to getting to know our CLC students and supporting their teachers and classrooms this year!

Water balloons?? Just a fun way to spice up a math lesson on a hot day for 3rd graders.

Dragon Community we need your help!
Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief III (ESSER III) funds are being provided under the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act of 2021, Public Law 117-2, enacted on March 11, 2021. The purpose of ESSER III is to address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on students by mitigating learning losses, supporting social-emotional needs, and ensuring safe in-person learning for students. USD #338 will be submitting an application for ESSER III funds to the Kansas Department of Education which must include input from a variety of stakeholders on how best to use these funds. Guidance for the district is very specific to how these funds may be used. Your input will impact how ESSER III funds are spent across the school district. Please take a few minutes to provide your feedback. Thank you in advance for your input and participation. Survey Link: https://forms.gle/gLyoaGbYk9dAPr5x8
