High School Basketball Sub-State Brackets! February 27th - March 4th
Let's go Dragons!

This week is National FFA Week!
“Future Farmers of America” was founded by a group of young farmers in 1928. Their mission was to prepare future generations for the challenges of feeding a growing population. FFA continues to help the next generation rise up to meet those challenges by helping its members to develop their own unique talents and explore their interests in a broad range of agricultural career pathways. So today, we are still the Future Farmers of America. But, we are the Future Biologists, Future Chemists, Future Veterinarians, Future Engineers and Future Entrepreneurs of America, too." - ffa.org
A big thanks to their awesome teacher Brittney Ebersole!

Kindergarten through 5th grade is starting the Kid's Heart Challenge next Monday 2/20/2023. Information will be sent home with the all of the students on either Monday or Tuesday with their packet and how to donate. This is a great way for our student's to raise money for a great organization, the American Heart Association. Students will receive prizes as they raise money, and those will be passed out weekly. This challenge starts on 2/20/2023 and will run through 3/10/2023. This is not a requirement for the students to participate and is 100% voluntary. Again, this is only for students that are in the grades K-5. Below will be a link that will take you to the kickoff flyer and you can get more information there. Please feel free to reach out to me at jeff.hale@vfalls338.com with any questions.

Valley Falls Middle School and High School FCCLA participates in District E-West STAR Events on 2-8-23 held in Topeka at the St Andrews Presbyterian Church. STAR events (Students Taking Action for Recognition) are individual or small groups that give members the opportunity to apply what they have learned in the classroom with an authentic project that affects the family and community. Many hours of work are put into projects and presentations with the goal to advance to the State competition, April 17th and the ultimate goal to advance to Nationals held in Denver, CO July 2 nd .
We had four members that helped judge and time, 24 members competed in 12 different events with 11 advancing on to State in six different events.
Congrats to all of the students and Mrs. Ellerman!
