Excited to welcome in 2021 and our second semester. Staff will return tomorrow, Jan. 4 and our students return later this week, Jan. 7. I wanted to take the time to share some info that has been on Facebook that needs some clarification. We do realize that late notifications were made to some students who were exposed to COVID. There were three things that impacted the lateness of the contact. First, we received notification as a district later than normal. Not being in session where we can gather and visit takes additional time. Second, it fell on the week of Christmas when a number of people were off for the holiday. Third, when the county health can not keep up with cases, they ask for assistance from KDHE and contacts take more time. Please know that we move as quickly as we possibly can within the district. Bless those who worked through the holiday to do what they could to keep up. #DragonPRIDE ready for a great 2021 semester!
The NHS Induction ceremony scheduled for January 7th has been postponed to a later date. Stay tuned for updates concerning a new date and time.
Valley Falls USD 338 is accepting applications for a Temporary Teacher Aide Position. The position begins on January 4, 2021 and ends on May 19, 2021. Interested applicants may apply online at www.usd338.com or contact the District Office at (785) 945-3214.

The HS Girls games for tonight, December 18th, are canceled and will be rescheduled to another date.
HS Boys will play beginning at 5:00 PM.
Also, Monday's (Dec. 21st) HSBB Games at Doniphan West have been canceled and will be rescheduled at a later date.

Each year the VFW presents an elementary, middle, and high school teacher with its Smart/Maher VFW National Citizenship Education Teacher Award to recognize them for their outstanding commitment to teaching and promoting America's history, traditions, and citizenship.
VFW Posts nominate their top local candidate in each category to their District (State) Department, which then selects a candidate from each category to submit to VFW National Headquarters. The National Department winners in each grade category will receive a VFW National citation for both themselves, and their school.
This year we are proud to announce that Angela Tillery has won at the local Post level; a well deserved recognition. Her nomination has been sent on to the District Level where we wish her the best of luck.
Commander Jerry Tullis and Jr. Vice Commander Steve Kientz was present at the school to present a certificate and a check for $50 to Angela Tillery with the kindergarten class in attendance to congratulate her.
USD #388 wants to thank the local VFW for the opportunity to recognize our outstanding teachers and supporting this program in our district.

Free Meals for Valley Falls Students has been extended to the end of the 2020-2021 school year! Students will not be charged for Breakfast or Lunch meals. However there is a $.40 charge for an extra milk or a milk to go with a lunch from home.
