
The middle school boys basketball game originally scheduled for tomorrow (2/17) has been canceled.

After speaking with Evergy, Jefferson Co Emergency Management shared that it is highly possible for additional rolling blackouts tomorrow. Because of this info and heating challenges within our district, 338 will be closed tomorrow, Feb. 17th.

The middle school boys basketball game at home Feb. 16th, tomorrow has been canceled due to the weather. It will not be rescheduled.

Just a reminder that there is no school tomorrow. The staff inservice day has also been canceled. Please be careful if you have to go outside. Safe warm and safe. Dr. Hanzlicek

Congratulations to Cade Norris for being selected to the Kansas Eight Man Football Association Div. 1 All Star game. Cade was honored at half-time of the girl's basketball game on Friday by USD #338 for his achievement.


Clarification to the the closure announcement. Wednesday the 17th was scheduled as early release on the calendar. It will not be an early release day. It will be a normal school day. Thank you.

Due to the predicted extreme temps and wind chill for Monday the 15th and Tuesday the 16th, school is canceled for these two days. Tuesday will become a teacher inservice day. There will be no late start on Wednesday the 17th. It will be a normal day. Stay warm and safe!

Renay Myers and Olivia Sprang organized a canned food drive for an FCCLA STAR event. Incentive for the food drive was a pie in the face for Renay and Mr. Morgan, HS Principal. They collected 243 cans - the goal was met!

The First Grade class has been reading the Humphrey book series. As a project they made their own Humphrey hats!



The Valley Falls High School National Honor Society Chapter held its 2020-2021 induction ceremony on Wednesday, Feb. 10. Six members were inducted who have displayed excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Those inducted were Avery Gatzemeyer, Serena Toll, Brennen Miller, Logan Martens, Aiden Sieve, and Trenton Kraxner. Congratulations.

Parents, Looking at the predicted wind chill and temperatures for Monday the 15th and Tuesday the 16th, it is possible that we could cancel school on these days. This decision will not be made until Sunday evening or early Monday morning. Please be prepared for this scenario.
