Due to predicted temperatures, high wind, and windchills, today’s game has been canceled. It has been rescheduled for Thursday, May 5th, 2022 with a 4:30pm start time.

We have added, and will now be attending the Doniphan West meet this Friday (4/8). The meet will start at 11am. Bus will leave at 9am.

seven students to nationals this summer in San Diego CA! With a first place in Fashion , Professional level presentation l level 1, and a 1st in Food Innovation level 1!!! All others received silver awards! Proud of all students for their efforts and perseverance!

4th grade had some fun today tracking “Loof Lirpa” birds to see if we could get a picture. We read an article about bird migration, then went on a hunt. After about 5 minutes of searching they saw that Loof Lirpa is April Fool backwards! They weren’t very happy with us!

The softball game scheduled for tonight has been canceled and is rescheduled for Wednesday, May 11th, with a start time of 4pm.
The scheduled baseball game will be played today as scheduled, with a start time of 4:30pm.

POWERLIFTING RESULTS
2A State Meet @ Conway Springs 3/26
After a strong showing at league, we had all 7 qualified lifters eligible for state. Unfortunately, only three were able to go. Our three young men were able to set five new personal records for themselves. Also, Samuel Drinkard was able to set the new 2A State Meet record for bench in the 181lb class. The previous mark was 305, and Sam bumped it up to 335.
Eddie Delao got 14th in bench, 10th in squat, 10th in clean, and 11th overall in his class. He set PR’s in bench and clean.
Solomon Drinkard got 4th in bench, 10th in squat, 14th in clean, and 9th overall in his class. He set PR’s in squat and bench.
Samuel Drinkard got 1st in bench, 4th in squat, 4th in clean, and 2nd overall in his class. He broke the meet record for bench in the 181lb class, which was set in 2019 at 305, and set the new mark at 335. He set a new PR in clean. He finished 3rd in the Male Heavyweight Meet Champion tally.
Our men finished 19th out of 29 teams.
We were lucky to have these three outstanding individuals represent Valley Falls in the NEK All Star game today. Congrats to all three!

Congratulations to Makayla Yates, Avery Gatzemeyer, and Brennen Miller for their selection to the 36th Annual Northeast Kansas All-Star Basketball games @ Highland Community College on Sunday, March 27th. The Girls play at 1 pm and the boys follow at 3 pm.

Starting tomorrow, 3/24/22, COVID testing will move to the elementary office. Doors will open at 7:30 AM. The community can test until 7:45 AM. After 7:45 AM testing will be by appointment only. If you have questions, please reach out to 785-945-3221.
On Saturday, March 26th from 10 am to 1 pm a group of VFHS students have organized a fishing derby to be held at 148 Old Decatur Road (Follow Signs) as part of the Seminar SPARKS project to spark interest in the outdoors and enjoying nature.
