Senior Parents: We will be honoring our Senior football players, Senior cross-country runners, and Senior band members tomorrow night at the football game. Congratulations to the lady dragon cross country team for finishing 2nd place today in the league meet! All league 2nd team honors went to Brooklynn Schmelzle (8th) and Dakota Boyce (12th). Super effort from all our girls. Thanks to the VB team and everyone else that came to push us on to success.

NEKL JV Volleyball tournament this Saturday is at ACCHS. Games will be played in 2 gyms, junior/senior high and elementary school (across the parking lot). It is a double elimination tournament, meaning once you lose twice you are done.
The bus will leave at 7:30am. Our first game is at 9am vs. ACCHS in the elementary school gym.
Each year Mary Herring makes and donates blankets to the kindergarten class. Every kindergarten student gets to choose their own blanket to take home. As you can see by the smiles, the students loved this yesterday! Thank you, Mary!
Saturday JV Tournament will be at ACCHS with our first game being played at 9am . The tournament is a double elimination set up.
Monday Varsity Volleyball will travel to Maur Hill Mount Academy for our regional quad. Our first match will be against Lyndon starting at 4pm.

Fall has arrived and along with that comes many activites. This month we will celebrate Red Ribbon Week and Halloween. Watch for information coming home with your students about these activities. Lady Dragons had a nice early Saturday morning run at the Pleasant Ridge meet. Brooklynn Schmelzle placed 8th and Dakota Boyce placed 17th. Dragons had 6 seasonal PR's and three career PR's. Great job ladies.
Grades 6-12 attended Mental Health Conference sessions this afternoon. Topics included Overcoming Burnout, Stress & Conflict Management, Wise & Emotional Decisions, and Healthy Relationships & Communication. Talk to your student about what they heard and learned today.

There will be NO JVHS Volleyball Tourney tomorrow at Mission Valley.
Have an outdoor project that needs done before winter hits? Does your garage need a clean-out and sweeping? VFHS students will be out helping community members (senior members have priority) with miscellaneous outdoor projects on Friday, October 17, from about 8:00 am-Noon, as part of their Service Learning Day. Students cannot use power tools, be on ladders or lift anything over 20 lbs.. If you are interested, please contact Brenda in the HS office at 785-945-3229 asap so plans can be made to help you out!
