Parents and guardians:

Following recommendations from the CDC and our local health department, we have restructured our summer strength and conditioning program and put in reasonable preventive measures to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The first two weeks of training will be outside only on the football field and track.  No middle school the first week.

Week 1 June 1 - 4 *No middle school
Session A: HS Boys 6:30-7:45 a.m.
Session B: HS Boys 7:50- 9:00 a.m.
Session C: HS Girls 9:10-10:20 a.m.

Week 2 and forward June 8
Session A: HS Boys 6:30-7:45 a.m.
Session B: HS Girls  7:50- 9:00 a.m.
Session C: 9th Boys/Middle School 9:10-10:20 a.m.

The following protocols will be followed:

  • June 1 - 14 weight room remains closed to students and the public.  Gyms will also be closed.
  • Students will sanitize when entering the area of training.
  • Groups gathering outside need to be less than 45 and should practice social distancing.
  • Outside equipment can be used such as tires.  (No balls or anything students would pass.)
  •  Students will sanitize after a station if it includes equipment.
  • Students will need to have their temperature taken each day.
  • Students will be asked the recommended county survey questions and then logged for documentation.
  • Coaches / Supervisors will stress to students that they should not touch their faces.
  • Each student will be responsible for bringing his/her own water bottle marked for identification.
  • Students and parents/guardians will sign a waiver before participating.
  • No access to locker rooms, bathrooms only. Posters in bathroom areas to remind students to wash properly when using the facility.
  • When lifting weights, students will be working in a consistent group of 3 to assist in spotting and safety.
  • Max of 15 students will be allowed in each session while training within the weight room.

On June 10, if the COVID numbers in the county remain at a number that is not of concern, students will then expand into the fitness room for weight training.  If students are early to a session, they should remain in or near his/her vehicle until his/her scheduled time.  No congregating in the parking lot.
