Mark your calendars for Monday, August 5th 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Tuesday, August 6th, 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
What are the changes? You now have an option of enrolling online or coming in to enroll! There has also been some changes in the fee structure.
Breakfast and lunch prices went up .10. Milk prices increased .05. We are part of the federal program and must increase as per their recommendations or we lose our federal reimbursements. Last year our district reimbursement was $90,618. Our district cannot afford to lose this revenue so we comply with the recommendations.
The district used to charge class fees and enrollment fees. The structure and definitions of these fees have changed. There are now two fees, instructional and enrollment. The enrollment fee will be used to buy classroom consumables, such as art materials, workbooks, construction paper, lab supplies, and copier paper. The instructional fee is a fee that will go into the textbook account to purchase textbooks and curriculum items. Both fees will go directly to instructional support. Trying to compare last year to this year would be difficult and would need to be done on an individual student basis as the fee structure in the past led to some students being charged a high amount and some paying a minimal class fee.
The preschool monthly fee was increased $5 per month.
Lastly, there has been some misunderstanding around the 7-12 activity fee. This fee allows 7-12 students entrance into all MS basketball, football, knowledge bowl, track, and volleyball. It also allows all 7-12 students into HS baseball, basketball, cross country, football, knowledge bowl, softball, track and volleyball.
As always, the district will work with parents/guardians through a payment plan. If you are a parent/guardian wanting to set up a plan, communicate this during the enrollment process.
