CONGRATULATIONS TO THE DRAGON FORENSICS TEAM on their 4th place finish at the NEK league meet last Wednesday!!! Individual medalists who made it to the final round were: Taryn Lee placed 5th in Humorous Solo Acting; Catherine Montgomery placed 6th in Humorous Solo Acting as well as Prose Reading; Mandy Davis placed 3rd in Serious Solo Acting and 2nd in Prose Reading; Alex Wilson placed 4th in Serious Solo Acting; Tyler Bridges placed 3rd in Impromptu Speaking; Cheyenne Ingraham placed 1st in Prose Reading; and Tyler and Jachin Drinkard placed 6th in Improvised Duet Acting.
GOOD LUCK TO THE DRAGON BASKETBALL TEAMS TONIGHT AT HORTON!!! The bus will leave at 3:45, the games begin at 5:00. The cheerleaders will leave at 5:00.
This week is Spirit Week. Today is "Dress to Impress" day; Wednesday is "What's my age again" day; Thursday is America day and Friday is Black Out day.
Dental Screening for all students who don't have an opt out form on file will be done Thursday.
Kansas County Clerks Election Officials Association is currently taking applications for a $500 scholarship. Preference will be given to those students majoring in Journalism, Political Science, Business, or Communications. Please stop by the office for an application.
The Kansas Environmental Health Association is taking applications for the THE BILL SPANIOL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. Please stop by the office for more information and an application.
Stormont Vail is currently taking applications for summer volunteers. If you are interested, please stop by the office for more information.
American Legion Boys State is currently taking applications for their annual summer leadership academy. If you are interested, please stop by the office for more information.
The City of Valley Falls is taking applications for Lifeguard positions this summer. You must be 16 years or older. Employment applications can be picked up at City Hall, 417 Broadway or on the website www.valleyfalls.org. Stop by the city hall if you have questions as they can help with information/guidance thru the certification process.
The Better Business Bureau Foundation is accepting applications from high school seniors for the 2017 Scott Mecham BBB Student of Integrity Awards. If you are interested in applying, see Mr. Scherschligt or stop by the office for an application.
Any student wanting to purchase a yearbook with their name on it, forms are due. Cost is $65 and can be paid in the office.
The weightroom is open Monday - Thursday after school with Coach Cummings.

Federal law requires that all men register with Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthday. Now, 17-year-old men can submit their registration information early on the Internet (www.sss.gov), or by filling out a form at any post office. Selective Service registration is required to be eligible for a federal student loan, job training, most federal jobs, and U.S. citizenship.
