Parent Letter About Bed Bugs

PreK-6 Parent Letter:

  • Red Ribbon Week Activities are being planned for October 23rd – 31st. The mission of the Red Ribbon Campaign is to present a unified and visible commitment towards the creation of a DRUG-FREE AMERICA. Daily activity information will be coming home later in your child’s book bag. Keep your eyes peeled!
  • Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled for October 23rd and 24th. Teachers will be sending home meeting times later this month. Again, please watch your child’s book bag.
  • HALLOWEEN is just around the corner to be celebrated on Tuesday, October 31st. Costumes will be allowed during the building classroom parade and parties. Teachers will provide time and assistance in putting costumes on in the afternoon.  More detailed information will be coming home in book bags.  We would like to cause as little of a disruption to the learning portion of the day as possible. Consideration to the following restrictions would be greatly appreciated.

No face paint (there really isn’t time to apply)

No violent costumes that include guns, swords, knives, blood, etc.
Students will put costumes on in the classroom – so pull over your clothes outfits or capes will work great– saving the intricate parts of the costume for later on the 31st.

Elementary Playground Campaign

The Valley Falls USD 338 SITE Council, consisting of parents, teachers, and community leaders, has undertaken a campaign to add new equipment to the district elementary school playground.  The playground is dated and is in need of improvement to create a safe and engaging play environment for our elementary school children.   The funds will support installation of new rubber curbing to retain playground mulch, addition of several new pieces of equipment, installation of a sun shelter, and repairs to existing equipment.

One of the campaign projects that is being completed is a GoFundMe account for the playground.  This account provides an easy way to make donations to help with the project.  Your generosity is appreciated if you so choose.
