FCCLA Fall Conference
On October 21 FCCLA members traveled to Seaman High School for a Fall Conference where they were able to listen to many different keynote speakers. Some were over new things that FCCLA has to offer and others were over their own message about leadership. We as a whole group were able to listen to Dustin Gaylon who got across to us all that we need to be the difference, treat everyone equal and to the full amount, also be cool enough to not be cool. Gaylon based his message about a man who was involved in the Special Olympics. Whom he helped every Thursday night with the rest of his college basketball teammates. He helped this Special Olympiad with his basic basketball skills like passing and dribbling. Gaylon wasn’t a big fan about doing this when he found out he had to, to be part of the team, but soon he found that he was engaged in it and knew that he would never be able to let the Olympiad down. I think that we all found his message inspirational and it really drew us all in. We left with a better understanding of what we needed to do to make a difference, and influence others. So be the difference and give everyone the full amount.
